Braxton Sisco is the founder of VALR Supply Co., a brand built around a simple idea: the goods people rely on should be designed with intention and built to last.

Before starting VALR, Braxton served eight years in the United States Navy as both a Surface Warfare Officer and a Special Duty Cryptologic Officer. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1995 and later deployed on missions supporting national security operations around the world.

During that time his operational call sign was “Tax Free,” a nickname earned from the number of missions flown in combat zones where pay qualified for federal tax exemption. The name stuck, but the lesson mattered more — when equipment matters, it needs to work.

Those experiences shaped how he thinks about design, reliability, and purpose. The tools and goods people depend on should be straightforward, durable, and thoughtfully made. VALR Supply Co. grew out of that philosophy.

The name itself comes from the NATO phonetic alphabet for the letter V — Victor, a word often associated with courage, resolve, and mission completion. VALR exists on the belief that everyday goods can carry meaning beyond utility.

The company focuses on issued goods — products intended to feel less like fashion and more like equipment. Items designed to be worn, used, and kept for years. Braxton later served aboard the Spruance-class destroyer USS John Hancock (DD-981) — an irony not lost on him given VALR’s later 250-year historical focus.

Braxton lives in Massachusetts with his family and continues to develop VALR with the same mindset that shaped its beginning: build fewer things, build them well, and issue them with purpose.

//OPERATING PRINCIPLE

Signal over noise.
Discipline over drift.
Standards over trends.
Intent over excess.

//MISSION STATEMENT

VALR issues goods for people who choose a bearing. Enigma encodes apparel for those who look deeper. Both exist as frameworks — not marketing exercises. Bearing is not bought. It is chosen.

//BRAND ARCHITECTURE

VALR

Issued goods. Deliberate releases. Enduring construction. Built for those who work — who move through the world with intention, who understand that quality is felt before it's seen.
